Paradise – Tasmania

240 kilometers south of Australia is an amazing piece of paradise – the island of Tasmania. From the west it is washed by the waters of the Indian Ocean, and from the east by the waters of the Tasman Sea. The island covers an area of ​​only about 70 kilometers and can be traveled around in a few days.

The abundance of vegetation on this mysterious and distant island is striking. Endless eucalyptus, pine forests, cypresses, southern beech and rare species of mosses, lichens occupy most of it. Over eighty species of orchids alone grow here! There are a lot of vineyards and apple orchards.

On the island of Tasmania, there are several national parks protected by the state. It is thanks to its amazing nature that Tasmania is very popular among tourists. The last rainforests of our Earth have been preserved here, a visit to which is considered a must for guests of the island, where they enjoy the extraordinary fresh air, outlandish trees and waterfalls.

Among the unique flora, no less rare fauna has been preserved. The island is home to some species of animals that are not found anywhere else in the world. One of these is the Tasmanian devil, so named by Europeans for its evil temper and terrible screams that make the blood run cold. The island is also home to wild dingoes, platypuses, koalas, echidnas, marsupial wolves and many other exotic species.

For people accustomed to the usual seasons, they change places on the island. Winter takes place in the summer months, when the coldest days come, the temperature does not rise above 8-10 degrees. From December to February, summer comes to Tasmania with a temperature of about 20 degrees with sunny weather, when all nature is transformed.

All conditions are created for tourists on the island. There is a large selection of hotels for every income. Also, travel companies offer apartments for rent, with different living conditions.

There are several car rental companies on the island. Using their services, many guests of the island prefer to travel on it on their own. In some cities of Tasmania, a service is offered – a helicopter tour that allows you to see the beauty of the island from a bird’s eye view.

The island has a very developed infrastructure, represented by numerous restaurants, shopping centers, souvenir shops, shops. For the information of tourists, on Sundays all restaurants and shops in Tasmania are closed.

Hobart
Among the attractions of the island should be noted its main city of Hobart, where you can stroll through the old streets, see the mansions, visit the Art Gallery, the Museum of Tasmania or the Royal Theater. Tourists love excursions to the local brewery and enticing distillery. Here they get acquainted not only with their history and the way of preparing products, but also taste alcohol.

Very popular among the guests of the island is shopping, which they spend in numerous shopping centers and in the Salamanca market. No one leaves without souvenirs made by numerous artisans. Tourists acquire the famous Tasmanian handmade clothing, sculptures and wood crafts.
